PEACELOADED TV: You’re are welcome on our Blog interview, please Tell us your name and where you come from?

MEKA E: My name is ONYENWE MARKANTHONY CHUKWUEMEKA”, I’m from “ONNEH” in Orumba south local government in Anambra State.

PEACELOADED TV: Can you tell us what drew you to the music industry?

MEKA E: I started singing when I was a little child, I listen to music, I see my self singing between lines and following the lyrics in rhythm with the music, then I began writing songs with my head. I became excited by this. I knew my writing was good I could even hear what the drums would be doing, what the bass would play and the cord sound that would form the musicality “hahaha” and before I know what is happening I started visiting studios.

PEACELOADED TV: How did you come up with your Stage name “MEKA E”?

MEKA E: My name is EMEKA MARKANTHONY ONYENWE” I got my stage name from my First name “EMEKA” I carved out the first letter E” and use it as initial. That’s how I got “MEKA E”.

PEACELOADED TV: Who are you inspired by?

MEKA E: I’m inspired by many musicians but mostly “Igbo rappers”, The likes of Phynozoroilblissstomrex , their type music is my music. Their music is what I love to listen to. I love them it is what inspires me.

PEACELOADED TV: Is there a hidden meaning in any of your music?

MEKA E: Yes there is great meaning in all my songs Example :the one titled “Agba m aka” this is what is going about among our youths. Everybody wants to belong. No one think about the effects. they are provoke by the little thing that means less.
“Agba m aka” form the above explanation, literally means that I came to my hood with nothing, I’m loyal, I’m simple and I’m just me, I don’t give a dawn of what people says about me. Am just doing my things. Don’t cross my lane but if u do …👊👊

PEACELOADED TV: Do you collaborate with others? What is that process?

MEKA E: Music collaboration is brilliant (sometimes difficult) Anyone in a band can tell you all about it…
Collaboration is an extra pair of ears, hands, and an additional brain to work with. It gives you tips into someone else’s workflow. It helps you overcome creative blocks. It even brings out creativity you didn’t know you had. So I go about this by finding my music match to make it a successful one.

PEACELOADED TV: Please discuss how you interact with and respond to fans.

MEKA E: I love my fans. And I haven’t have problem with any of my fan. So am social to them.

PEACELOADED TV: What is your favorite part about this line of work? Your least favorite? Why?

MEKA E: Whatever suits my mood at the time. I have a wide range of interest in music however, mostly centered around Rap and hip hop.

PEACELOADED TV: Have you ever dealt with performance anxiety?

MEKA E: Smiles…. I’m always bold enough to come up stage and perform. Anxiety comes when people don’t cheer you up during your performance, they don’t give an ovation. It happened to me once. At bigger villa. And I never go there again.

PEACELOADED TV: Tell me about your favorite performance venues.

MEKA E: I have been to various places to performe. Viz; Bigger villa hotels, Soprom hotels @housing, Shoprite, Dolly hills, etc… Among all this Dolly hills hotels is my favourite.

PEACELOADED TV: What’s the biggest problem you’ve had to overcome so far?

MEKA E: My guardian against my music career.. But not until my cousin bro spoke out for me and gave them enough reasons to allow me carry on with my music career. Whilst, be mindful of my education.

PEACELOADED TV: What do you enjoy most about being a musician?

MEKA E: I feel happy when I got a thumb up from my fans over a good music. Because i got what they want. It turns me on. It pushes me to do more.

PEACELOADED TV: What do you hate most?

MEKA E: There is no success story without critics but I hate it when you criticise and never border to give corrections

PEACELOADED TV: If you could change anything about the industry, what would it be?

MEKA E: To give young upcoming artist avenue to showcase their talents. Get the best out of them, encourage them and teach them what need to know and how to do it.

PEACELOADED TV: Please explain your creative process What’s an average day like for you?

MEKA E: If am to say how my creative process goes like. Firstly I have to get myself prepared, get idea to immerse myself in the domain, I have to listen to music that inspires me, from it I create a new piece of my own. And when I does that its normally best carried out in a quiet environment. It’s really this stage that i try to absorb as much information as possible because this information will go into my sub-consciousness

MEKA E: any tone with characteristics such as controlled pitch and tone quality. The sounds are produced by instruments in which the periodic vibrations can be controlled by the performer.

PEACELOADED TV: What advice would you have for someone wanting to follow in your footsteps?

MEKA E: My advice is. Go for what u have discovered about yourself. Don’t allow some people to pull you down. Be strong, be yourself, go for it and make it happen.
