Coronavirus: Nasarawa, Niger state governors go into self-isolation

Niger state Governor Abubakar Sani Bello and his counterpart in Nasarawa state, Abdullahi Sule, have gone on self-isolation as a result of their presence at the Nigeria Governors’ Forum meeting on March 18th where Bauchi state governor, Bala Mohammed, who has tested positive for Coronavirus, was in attendance.
In a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Mary Noel Berje, the Governor said
“Considering the fact that I was in Abuja the whole of last week to participate in the APC National meeting with the President, The Nigeria Governors forum meeting, National Economic council meeting and the World bank breakfast meeting, as a way of leading by example I have placed my self on isolation and waiting to be tested, along with members of my family. The Governor has also directed that all his close aides and all cabinet members should subject themselves to self-isolation.” the statement read
Nasarawa state Commissioner for Health, Ahmad Yahaya, confirmed to newsmen that the state governor has also gone into self-isolation as he recently came in contact with President Buhari’s Chief of Staff, Abba Kyari, who has reportedly tested positive to the vrius.
